Below are brief biographies of the people
behind UN Observer.org.
Staff
Bruno Schneider, Executive
Director, brings extensive experience in non-profit management
and Board involvement combined with over a decade of international
strategic planning skills acquired while working in finance
and management consulting in the for-profit world.
Raised in France and educated in the United States, Bruno
holds a B.A. with honors in Political Science from Harvard
University and an M.A. in Human Rights Studies from the United
Nations' University for Peace.
Mathilde Garnier-Tobar, Program Coordinator - Peacekeeping/Humanitarian
Accountability, has an academic background in international
humanitarian affairs. She studied at a number of European
universities, including the Universite d'Aix-Marseille in
France, University of La Sapienza di Roma in Italy and Universidad
Autonoma de Barcelona in Spain. She is a native of France.
Her non-profit experience includes working for the International
Rescue Committee as well as involvement with the French Red
Cross, UNICEF in Venezuela and the ILO in Costa Rica. Mathilde's
most recent professional activities have focused on refugee/naturalization
issues as well as work with families with children with disabilities.
Ralitza Stoeva, UN Observer.org's web designer, has
an academic background in environmental management and graphic
design. She has worked on the design and development of over
20 websites for both non-profit and for-profit organizations.
Her professional involvement in the non-profit sector includes
being a project coordinator for several environmental NGOs
in Europe, including A SEED Europe, EEC Bankwatch and For
the Earth, focusing on issues related to energy efficiency
and renewable energy sources. Ralitza is a native of Bulgaria.

Board of
Directors
Bruno Gransard brings over a decade of strategic management
consulting and fund management experience in the US, Europe
and Asia to UN Observer.org.
Bruno studied economics and international relations at Tufts
University, the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and Keio
University in Japan. He is a specialist in Japan-US business
relations, and has worked in over a dozen emerging markets,
covering all continents.
Ever since participating in a Conservation International-sponsored
program in Guatemala in 1993, he has taken considerable interest
in environmental causes. A French and American citizen, Bruno
is currently based in New York.
Kathleen Kleihege Schneider brings extensive non-profit
experience to UN Observer.org with a specific focus on fundraising
and partnerships. With a for-profit background in finance
and trading, she has spent the last several years involved
in the field of human rights, with a specific focus on women's
rights and health & human rights.
Kathleen holds a B.A. with honors in Economics and Political
Science from Wellesley College and an M.A. from the United
Nations' University for Peace.
Laurent Loiseau, an independent journalist based in
Paris, brings wide-ranging media strategy experience to UN
Observer.org. He has written extensively on labor issues,
political participation within the European Union and bridging
the divide between cultures within French society.
In addition to his many publications, Laurent is also the
founder of a new media and communications company. A native
of France, Laurent studied political science at the Institut
dEtudes Politiques de Paris as well as contemporary
Islamic and Russian Studies at the Université de Paris
La Sorbonne.

Dr. Jack Zivotofsky, a pediatrician trained at the
Université Libre de Bruxelles and the Université
Catholique de Louvain in Belgium, has been practicing medicine
for over 30 years. His career has focused on providing access
to good medical care in developing countries as well as lesser
developed parts of the United States.
Dr. Jack has worked with the Peace Corp in East Timor, Mauritania,
Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan and has taught medicine in the Eastern
Pacific as well as the Caribbean Basin. He has also done extensive
work within the Inuit community in Alaska and native-American
communities in the mainland United States. Dr. Jack is based
in San Francisco.
