(San Francisco, March15, 2004) - Today
UN Observer.org, the leading non-profit organization dedicated
to promoting UN leadership by example, added three new members
with experience in developing world medicine, journalism and
investment management to its board of directors.
Dr. Jack Zivotofsky, a pediatrician ,trained at the Université
Libre de Bruxelles and the Université Catholique de
Louvain in Belgium, has been practicing medicine for over
30 years. His career has focused on providing access to good
medical care in developing countries as well as lesser developed
parts of the United States.
Dr.Jack has worked with the Peace Corp in East Timor, Mauritania,
Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan and has taught medicine in the Eastern
Pacific as well as the Caribbean Basin. He has also done work
within the Inuit community in Alaska and native-American communities
in the mainland United States. Dr. Jack is based in San Francisco.
Laurent Loiseau, an independent journalist based in Paris,
brings wide-ranging media strategy experience to UN Observer.org.
He has written extensively on labor issues, political participation
within the European Union and bridging the divide between
cultures within French society.
In addition to his many publications, Laurent is also the
founder of a new media and communications company. A native
of France, Laurent studied political science at the Institut
d'Etudes Politiques de Paris as well as contemporary Islamic
and Russian Studies at the Université de Paris La Sorbonne.
Bruno Gransard brings over a decade of strategic management
consulting and fund management experience in the US, Europe
and Asia to UN Observer.org.
Bruno studied economics and international relations at Tufts
University, the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and Keio
University in Japan. He is a specialist in Japan-US business
relations, and has worked in over a dozen emerging markets,
covering all continents. Ever since participating in a Conservation
International-sponsored program in Guatemala in 1993, he has
taken considerable interest in environmental causes. A French
and American citizen, Bruno is currently based in New York.
